Last weekend we took a road trip to Roaring River State Park in Missouri. I managed to get a few shots mostly wild flowers. I did manage to get a lot shots to add to my texture collection. The image below is a sample of the Texture Blend Photography that I have been playing with more lately. This particular image includes three separate textures blended and  refined to produce the final product.

There is so much detail in leaves, I love the lines, symmetry, and texture.

 

 

I took the kids to the Henry Doorly Zoo last week on the last really good day before our weekend storm. I found this while they were playing on the playground at the zoo. The sun was low enough in the sky that is was hitting the rose bushes and highlighting the thorns. I keep thinking that I am going to run out of things to shoot at the Zoo but  so far I still find things here and there. I think it is good mental exercise to keep looking for new angles and compositions in familiar surroundings.
