Deception Pass Bridge, Deception Pass State Park, Washington

black and white HDR Photo of Deception Pass Bridge, Deception Pass State Park, Washington

While on our road trip this summer we stayed with some friends in Washington. One of the days we were there they took us out to the coast to Deception Pass State Park. The kids had a blast playing in the ocean. I love bridges and thought this perspective on the bridge was quite stunning.

Photo of a tree with leaves turning yellow, from Pioneers Park in Lincoln, Nebraska

A shot of the effects of fall from Pioneers Park in Lincoln Nebraska. I really like this park for the open spaces, great paths and small picturesque ponds. Definitely worth a drive or walk through if you are in lincoln

Wispy Clouds of Cotton

photo of wispy clouds over the Desert Dome at the Henry Doorly Zoo in omaha, nebraska

On our most recent trip to the zoo, I happened to look up and notice these amazing clouds floating over the Desert Dome. I thought the texture was really neat next to the convex shapes of the panels of the dome,

Ripe for the picking

Photo of the seed head of a prarie grass plant

When I took this photo originally I was planning on it looking like one of those warm, bright, grass waving in the breeze photos. But when I got around to processing it I kind of liked this version better. I really like the contrast between the soft, downy parts of the plant and the little black stems that hold it.

Photo of a metal sculpture from the Garden of the Senses in the Henry Doorly Zoo

A  random sculpture that my wife found in the Garden of the Senses at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha. She took the photo and I did the editing. I’m not exactly sure what it is supposed to be but, I thought that it looked cool and I would share. Hope everyone has a happy and prosperous new year.

From the Lions Mouth

Photo of the pool and fountain in the Tranquility Garden, Henry Doorly Zoo, Omaha, Nebraska

A perspective of the meditation pool in the Garden of the Senses, at Henry Doorly Zoo. My wife actually took this photo,  I really like the perspective and the colors. I did some extensive playing with it, I wanted it to convey more feeling than the flat photograph.

Devils Churn, Cape Perpetua State Park

Photo of Devils Churn, Cape Perpetua State Park, Yachats, Oregon

We spent a couple of  days at Cape Perpetua State Park, near Yachats, Oregon. It is an amazing part of the Oregon coast, the colors, the lush foliage, waves and the  beach all seem to draw you in. This is Devils Churn, a long deep crevice where the water, seems to almost boil at times when the waves and tide come in. There was an amazing collection of  tidal pools with all kinds of amazing colors. I managed to get down to the edge of the churn with my flip flops on, so walk back to get this perspective was a little more exciting than I wanted in the morning. The rocks were wet and slick, some were covered with an almost radioactive green algae.
